When the Magic Ends, the Enchantment Continues with “Easter Magic” in Kuršumlija

The Park of the Toplica Uprising was filled with joy, children’s smiles, music, and dance, while the rich and diverse program gathered a large number of participants and visitors of all generations. The ceremonial opening was marked by the youngest performers – the ninth and tenth preschool preparatory groups from the “Sunce” kindergarten, who performed the choreographies “Ivin Dance” and “Dance in the Rain,” bringing special warmth and magic to the very beginning of the event. This year’s event was officially opened by Milica Đurđević Stamenkovski, Minister of Labour, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs of the Republic of Serbia.

Visitors had the opportunity to enjoy an exhibition of creative works made by preschool children as well as elementary and high school students, created as part of the art and literary competition organized by the National Library of Kuršumlija. Special attention was drawn to the children’s workshops and the competition for the most beautifully decorated Easter egg, where the youngest participants showed remarkable imagination and creativity.

Numerous talented performers took turns on stage. Students of “Drinka Pavlović” Elementary School presented themselves through dance and song – from the “New Year’s Kolo” and the dance performance “Sofija” to the children’s choir performance of the song “Let Love Shine Everywhere.” Students of the Economic-Technical School also contributed musically by performing the songs “In the Middle of the Sea” and “Christ is Risen.”

A particularly strong impression was left by the dance group “Ragnarok” from Kuršumlija, whose members, recognized for their energy, creativity, and numerous international successes, delighted the audience. In the first part of the performance, younger dance formations took the stage, followed by a mini disco that brought additional joy to the youngest visitors.

Students of “Miloje Zakić” Elementary School performed traditional dances “Hajd povedi veselo” and “Bugarka,” as well as rhythmic choreographies prepared by lower-grade students. This was followed by a performance from a high school student who sang “Easter Morning” and “Song to the Holy Land.”

A special segment of the program was dedicated to the award ceremony for the best works submitted to the National Library’s art and literary competition, as well as the announcement of the winners of the “Most Beautifully Decorated Easter Egg” competition. A surprise award for the most original performance was also presented, further highlighting the creativity and effort of the participants.

This year’s “Easter Magic” also had a humanitarian character. During the event, donations were collected for our fellow citizens Đorđe and Slavica, showing that togetherness, humanity, and care for others hold a special place in our community.

To the delight of the youngest visitors, the musical-stage performance by the entertainers “Send Me a Clown” followed, bringing lots of laughter and fun. The final part of the program was marked by powerful dance energy through performances by the older formations of the “Ragnarok” dance club, as well as soloists and dance duos who prepared a true spectacle for the audience.

The event concluded with a performance by members of the Cultural and Artistic Society “Bata Lačković,” featuring traditional dances and songs such as “Dunje Ranke,” “Ide Deda Niz Planinu,” Čačak, and Šumadija, bringing the event to a close in the spirit of tradition, togetherness, and joy.

On behalf of the Tourist Organization of the Municipality of Kuršumlija and the Municipality of Kuršumlija, we would like to thank all participants, friends, and visitors who, with their presence and energy, helped make “Easter Magic” special and unforgettable once again this year. We wish you a happy Easter holiday!
