Vojin Šulović
Academician Dr. Vojin Šulović (1923–2008), born in Kuršumlija, was a distinguished physician, full professor at the Faculty of Medicine in Belgrade, and long-time director of the Gynecology and Obstetrics Clinic. He specialized in gynecology and obstetrics, published more than 700 papers, held important international positions, and received numerous domestic and international awards for his contribution to medicine and science.
Vojin Vojinović
Vojin Vojinović (1922–1999), born in Mirnica near Kuršumlija, was a National Hero of Yugoslavia. From the beginning of the war, he actively participated in the liberation movement, demonstrating exceptional courage and determination in numerous operations. After the war, he advanced in the Yugoslav People’s Army to the rank of Lieutenant General, held responsible positions in public service and diplomatic missions, and expressed his love for his homeland through literary work, leaving behind novels and chronicles translated into several languages.
