Thermo-Mineral Waters and Healing Mud
In the area of Lukovska Spa, two groups of springs can be distinguished: the western group (Upper Spa) with 20 natural springs and two boreholes, and the eastern group (Lower Spa) with 13 natural springs and two boreholes. Based on numerous physical and chemical analyses, it can be concluded that the Lukovska hypo-thermal, homeothermal, and hyperthermal waters are carbonic, sulfide, mineral, fluoride, silicon, and lithium-rich waters.

The water temperature in Lukovska Spa ranges from 22°C to 65°C. The acidic hypothermal spring in the Lower Spa is considered beneficial for treating digestive system disorders. In the Upper Spa, several springs are known to help treat rheumatic diseases, vascular conditions, blood pressure regulation, kidney diseases, and urinary tract disorders. The Upper Spa also contains two thermal mud springs, which the company A.D. “Planinka” transformed into open-air pools. Visitors use the mud and thermal baths to treat rheumatism and skin diseases. In the treatment facilities of the hotels and annexes, healing mud is artificially prepared and used as one of the therapeutic methods.
