Thermo-Mineral Waters
In Prolom Spa there are two separated thermal spring sources located about 950 m apart. The eastern or main spring source is situated in the center of the spa settlement and consists of six boreholes with a capacity of 4.5 l/s and water temperatures ranging from 30 to 33.8°C. The western spring source, known as “Pupavci”, is located in the valley of a deep stream, in the hamlet of Vukovići within the village of Veliko Pupavce. It consists of the B-5 borehole, with a capacity of approximately 6.5 l/s and a water temperature of 30.5°C. Thermal water from the B-5 borehole is transported through pipes and special pumps to reservoirs in the center of the spa, where it is used for various purposes: bathing in hotel rooms, spa treatments, filling recreational and rehabilitation pools, heating hotel facilities, drinking water, and more. These waters are nitrogen-rich, moderately alkaline, low-mineralized, sodium bicarbonate, silicon-rich hypothermal waters. The healing waters of Prolom Spa belong to the rare group of waters with exceptionally high balneological value, offering a wide range of therapeutic applications.
