Bust of Milutin Uskoković

In the central town park there is a memorial bust dedicated to the writer Milutin Uskoković, originally from Užice, who spent the night at the “Europa” hotel in Kuršumlija on October 27, 1915, during the retreat of the Serbian army through Albania. Deeply disappointed by the condition of the army and the country, he threw himself into the swollen Toplica River early the next morning.

The citizens of Kuršumlija erected his memorial bust in 1953.
