11 km southwest of Kur\u0161umlija, in the valley expansion of the Banjska River, at 442 m above sea level. Kur\u0161umlija Spa has a long and rich history. Its thermo-mineral waters were used as early as Roman times, as evidenced by numerous archaeological discoveries indicating the existence of an important Roman settlement in the area. In addition to Roman coins and remains of ancient buildings, particularly notable are a marble altar dedicated to the Nymphs by a Roman priestly family, as well as a marble plaque preserving the Roman name of Kur\u0161umlija Spa: <em>AQUARUM BASIANARUM.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-7928 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/tokursumlija.rs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/tokurs-kursumlijska-banja-02.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1366\" height=\"768\" srcset=\"https:\/\/tokursumlija.rs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/tokurs-kursumlijska-banja-02.jpg 1366w, https:\/\/tokursumlija.rs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/tokurs-kursumlijska-banja-02-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/tokursumlija.rs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/tokurs-kursumlijska-banja-02-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/tokursumlija.rs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/tokurs-kursumlijska-banja-02-768x432.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1366px) 100vw, 1366px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In the immediate vicinity of the spa, a Roman votive monument depicting the <strong>goddess of health \u2013 Hygieia<\/strong>, as well as a Roman milestone, were also discovered. In 1929, King Alexander I Kara\u0111or\u0111evi\u0107 officially proclaimed Kur\u0161umlija Spa a \u201cgenerally beneficial and healing mineral water\u201d spa resort.
