css=&#8221;&#8221;]<strong>The Church of Saint Petka<\/strong> is located in the village of Ma\u010dkovac, on the fifth kilometer of the Kur\u0161umlija\u2013Blace intermunicipal road, on the left-hand side.<\/p>\n<p>At a large public gathering held on February 27, 2004, the decision was made to build the church, and a church committee was formed. With the blessing of the then Bishop of Ni\u0161, and now Serbian Patriarch His Holiness Irinej, construction began. The church was built through voluntary donations and voluntary work by local residents. It is also important to mention the numerous contributions from donors, especially private companies from the municipality of Kur\u0161umlija. Part of the funding was also provided by the Municipality of Kur\u0161umlija.<\/p>\n<p>The church is a single-nave structure. Its base is 13.5 meters long and 7.32 meters wide. An octagonal dome with a diameter of 3.5 meters rises above the nave area. The height of the semi-dome is 1.75 meters, while the total height of the building is 10.30 meters, excluding the cross.<\/p>\n<p>A bell tower with a bell was built on the southern side of the church.<\/p>\n<p>Since the building is of recent construction, it is in very good condition. The exterior fa\u00e7ade has been completed, while the interior has been plastered and prepared for fresco painting.
